The 40 day study provided by Rick Warren in his book, “The Purpose Driven Life,” can provide an exceptional opportunity to focus on what is important in life and make some adjustments.
There are many lessons that I could speak to, but probably the biggest one comes from Romans 12:2– we are transformed by what we think about and what we make our FOCUS. It is so easy to focus on minute, trivial details during our ridiculously busy and stressful lives– and often, that amounts to making a poor choice. I highly commend this book to anyone wanting to get real about their priorities in life, and get centered in what we can learn from God’s Word about “right living.”
It is about a lot of things, but one of the biggest is, what is my focus minute to minute during the day? What is my thought life composed of? Those things I think and dwell on, I become. It pays to make good choices when it comes to our focus.
