Copyright Communication Policy
posted in intellectualproperty, politics |Good thoughts to ponder on 21st Century copyright issues.
Timothy Wu’s “Copyright Communication Policy” paper raises some great issues important to digital authors in the 21st century. Although I will admit to, at this point, just scanning is 96 page PDF treatise, his observations about “copyright’s poorly understood role in the regulating competition among rival disseminators” is welcome.
How should copyright law evolve and change in our information age / network economy? The cynic in me predicts it will continue to protect the wealthy and the established elite who have the means and power to effectively lobby the legislative and executive branches of government. Will this serve the common good? Probably not….
Thanks to Siva for drawing my attention to this paper in his blog.
