Commenting added!

posted in random |
You can now add comments to my blog entries, thanks to Haloscan!

I have been using iBlog (OS X blogging software) since I started blogging over a year ago, but have wished that there was a way for web visitors to post comments if desired to my blog entries. iBlog is very handy but is software that is just installed on my own computer– the actual blog postings are sent via ftp up to my webserver, whenever I write something new and click the “publish” icon.

Now there is a way for comments to be posted to my iBlog musings! When visiting Ian Jukes’ webblog today, I noticed he is using the service of Haloscan (www.haloscan.com) for blog visitor commenting. After registering on the Haloscan website, I was able to quickly locate instructions for using their service with iBlog.

I had been wondering if I needed to switch to some type of server-based blogging software (like blogger.com) in order to have commenting available. Now I don’t! Blogging is supposed to be interactive– and now my blog is! Apparently this feature is just going to work on new posts I make with iBlog, or if I edit and republish older postings. At least the age of “comment enabled” webblogging has begun for me!

Enjoy. :-)

On this day..
