Great Ideas for prayers for our children

posted in christian |
Do you pray for your kids? I need to pray for mine more. Here are some excellent ideas from Patrick Morley.

I am reading The Man in the Mirror by Patrick Morley one chapter at a time as a daily devotional currently. I highly recommend this book to all men. In Chapter 8, he offers the following as suggestions for prayers parents (moms or dads, even grandparents or relatives) can offer for children. We can and should pray for:

- A saving faith (thanksgiving if already Christian)
- A growing faith
- An independent faith
- To be strong and healthy in mind, body, and spirit
- A sense of destiny (purpose)
- A desire for integrity
- A call to excellence
- To understand the ministry God has for them
- That I will set aside times to spend with them
- To acquire wisdom
- Protection from drugs, alcohol, and premarital sex
- The mate God has for them (alive somewhere, needing prayer)
- Glorify the Lord in everything

How quickly children grow up! Last night my wife and I looked at past DVDs I have made of the year’s iMovies– it is incredible how much our kids have changed and grown just in the past 3 years. How critical it is that we pray for them each day. These are great suggestions. Thanks Patrick.
