Before my summer class this year, I had never heard of the term “transmediation.” Apparently not many others have as well, because today I created the initial WikiPedia entry for this topic.
Check it out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transmediation
And then edit/add to what I have started!
I read yesterday in “The New Shape of Knowledge” that a traditional encyclopedia, like the “Encyclopedia Britannica, has 32 volumes and about 65,000 topics” while “Wikipedia has over 600,000 articles in English alone.”
Amazing. And now I am a WikiPedia author / contributor / knowledge architect!
