WordCount (http://wordcount.org) is a fascinating website exploring the way human beings use the English language.
The random WordCount sequences on the “conspiracy” page are interesting and often amusing.
Note that you can explore the site not only by searching for a word, but also by a rank. There are 86,800 words in the WordCount archive presently, ranked by how frequently they are used. According to the “About Wordcount” page, utilized sources included both spoken and written English examples.
