I too like the Maxtor “OneTouch” type solution – but backing up your data falls into two categories:

YOUR DATA: Store your documents (i.e. Word, Excel, Pictures) all in the “My Documents” folder for easier backup.

Move your Outlook PST file into the “My Documents” folder (again for easier backup).

Remember that folders and documents on your Desktop also need to be backed up. (Which is why you should really store your documents in the “My Documents” folder.)

Your Internet Favorites are stores in a separate folder; this one will need to be manually copied.

YOUR SYSTEM: This is the topic that’s harder to resolve. Making a complete “clone” of the computer to quickly restore Windows to its original state? That’s much harder, and left for another blog conversation.
