Looking for a great summer professional development opportunity related to the latest innovations in educational technology? Apply to attend one of the Discovery Educator Network Regional Institutes. You’ve got six more days to submit an electronic application. Discovery Education is covering many of the costs, and the training looks great! According to DEN:
The Discovery Educator Network is pleased to announce five regional institutes taking place this spring and summer at locations all across the United States. The Discovery Educator Network Regional Institutes are exclusive professional development opportunities open only to Discovery Educators. During the regional institutes, Discovery Educators will have the opportunity to learn new ways to integrate digital media into their instructional practices and share their own ideas with colleagues from all over the country. In addition, each of the five regional institutes will feature nationally-recognized names in the field of educational technology.
For those Discovery Educators who are accepted, the Discovery Educator Network will cover the cost of lodging and specified meals during the regional institute. Participants will be responsible for travel expenses to and from the regional institute. In order to be considered, all applications must be received by Friday, March 31, 2006 (5 P.M. EST).
Institute locations will include San Diego. Atlanta, Chicago, Valley Forge, and Dallas. These will be top notch events with super presenters. Will Richardson will be sharing experiences and perspectives on blogs, wikis, and other web 2.0 tools at the Chicago event. Anytime innovative and passionate educators get together to learn at events like this, it’s bound to be worthwhile!
Kudos to Discovery Education for sponsoring this event and the free Discovery Educator Network!
