A good friend of mine who I used to work with at Texas Tech, Pavan Chinthapanti, recently had his first skydiving experience doing a tandem jump. Of course we live in the 21st century, so events like this can and are readily documented with digital video and shared with a global audience via websites like YouTube:
Way to go Pavan! Looks like the experience was quite exhilarating! 
Pavan jumped with the Adventure Skydiving Company. They don’t list prices on their website, you have to call to find out about costs in your area.
