Dan Schmit, Instructional Technology Specialist at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln shared this presentation titled “KidsCast: Exciting Podcasting Activities to Promote Research and Learning” at the 2006 Oklahoma State Department of Education’s Encyclo-Media conference on September 1st. In this session, Dan presents multiple ideas to creatively use podcasts in the classroom to engage students with curriculum content, their peers in class, and others around the globe. Podcasting need not be limited to projects carried out in a single classroom: The interactive, collaborative potential of podcasts to bring learners from around the globe together for common purposes is extremely exciting! Thanks to Dan for both sharing this presentation and giving permission to publish this recording of his session as a podcast.
