Blog spam problems

For some reason a bunch of blog spams started showing up as approved comments yesterday– I have temporarily required a login for commenting– and will hopefully be updating to the latest version of Wordpress which I hope will help. From time to time (but rarely) some offensive comments have gotten through. This is quite an irritating problem, hopefully I’ll get this worked out so again I can leave commenting open (without subscribing / logins required.)
