		<description>My daughter started 3rd grade this year.  Over the summer break, we had her memorize multiplication tables through 12 x 12 and write a 500 word essay.  That was in addition to letting her read, spend a day in a laboratory, travel, etc.  She was quite ready to go back to school and is better off for her summer &quot;break.&quot;</description>
