Time to switch to CFLs

If you are not sure what a “CFL” is and can’t see any of the video links because of content filters at school, check out the WikiPedia article for compact fluorescent lamp (CFL). I’m going to be looking for them next time our family goes shopping for light bulbs! :-)

    Just make sure you are aware of the fact that CFLs do contain a little bit of mercury! This isn’t a problem unless they get broken, which in the house means following a very careful cleanup protocol. You also absolutely must not simply throw them away when done – they must be disposed of either at a hazardous waste facility, or hopefully soon, more retailers will have programs to take care of burned out CFLs. They do save on money, no question!
