Isn't it great that the price of many technologies is coming down. Due, in part, to the steady stream of innovation pushing new tools to the market and making others a commodity. And then there's open source. The National Center for Technology Innovation (NCTI), funded by the US Department of Education, is holding conference this week in DC to look at how researchers, entrepreneurs and policy-makers can create opportunities to use emerging innovations to develop targeted and relevant learning opportunities for students -- especially those with special needs. More information is available here.

So... got up this morning, stretched and bought two laptops care of the Give One, Get One initiative. I also then blogged it at the AZ Discovery Education Network site as well. Thanks for giving this some blog attention earlier this fall so that I had time to investigate and plan for the spending. The Get One part of the laptop purchase will be going to my parent's house for use by ny 5 nieces and nephews when they visit (which is often). Thanks again for highlighting this on your blog!
