This is my all-time favorite video (even though it's from a for-profit U that I am not affiliated with. I think the Fresh Prince would be proud of his Uncle Phil!

. . . the New York Times also liked it (and to answer the question posed by the article - yes, Virginia, Online Universities do have Virtual Cheerleaders - I am one of them).

I think the Kaplans, Phoenixs, and Strayers of the world have the best chance to apply this type of pedagogy (actually andragogy), since most of the long-in-the-tooth "learn as I learn" teaching is going on in the Public University system, where until recently there was little focus on the operating budget and efficiency.

I thought that this was a very intriguing video. I would say that I have to echo the question of "What are they actually doing?" It is somewhat comforting to know that change is happening.

I wonder how long it will take for that kind of mentality to take a firm hold of the K-12 sector.

Of course, maybe that is the idea behind the commercial...to drive enough curiosity to get phone calls, e-mails, and applications coming in. Who knows?

This is a commercial that is certainly worthy of sharing with the staff.
Thanks for sharing.
