Interview with Chris Davis on “Journeys in Podcasting” Project

This afternoon during the “Hack Education” event at the 2015 ISTE Conference in Philadelphia, I was interviewed by Chris Davis (@chrisdaviscng) about using media to document classroom learning. Chris is conducting a series of audio interviews at ISTE this year for the “Journeys in Podcasting” project he’s continuing with Natalia Leon (third grade teacher) and Diego Lopez (technology integrator) at their school in Bogotá, Colombia. (Colegio Nueva Granada) Afterward, I asked Chris if he’d be willing to briefly let me interview him about the podcasting project. It’s fairly rare, in my experience, to find other educators who are passionate about audio podcasting and using it for professional development in schools. Our interview is about 2.5 minutes long. Check out “Journeys in Podcasting” on Podbean or on iTunes. Chris’ blog is “Celebrating CNG Elementary.”

* Full Disclosure: ISTE provided me with a free “media pass” as an educational blogger this year. I am sharing multiple interviews like this from Philadelphia as an official conference Storychaser.

My name is Brittany Slay and I am a student in EDM310 at the University of South Alabama. I think podcasting sounds very interesting. Chris’ “Journeys in Podcasting” project seems like it is going to bring a new outlook on using media in the classroom to document learning. I also think it is so neat that they are able to reach teachers and educators around the globe with this idea. This shows how powerful technology can be. Feel free to look at our EDM310 Class Blog and my personal one as well, Brittany Slay, also here is a link to my twitter account, @brittany_vines.
