According to the website, upcoming.org is:
a social event calendar, completely driven by people like you. Manage your events, share events with friends and family, and syndicate your calendar to your own site.
I am currently using RSSCalendar on my blog, but I may give upcoming a try. RSSCalendar is for sharing personal calendar events, while Upcoming.org is a true social networking calendar site for many people to share events. So the two really aren’t trying to accomplish the same purposes, from what I can see.
