More classroom podcasts

Shaun Else has created an outstanding intro page to podcasting for teachers and students.

He includes links to several classroom podcasts I had not heard of yet:

  1. Room 613 Talk: Class Weblog and Podcasts for Mr. Hetherington’s 6th Grade Social Studies Class in Connecticut, USA
  2. Radio Sandaig Otters: 6th Grade Podcasters from Glasgow, Scotland
  3. The Downs FM: Elementary students in Walmer, England
  4. Ace Kids: Elementary students taught by award winning teacher Adriane Bruce
  5. Grandview Library Storytelling podcast
  6. Room613 Panther Podcasts: Podcasts by Mr. Bell’s students
  7. King Elementary School Kingcast from Deer River, Minnesota

My favorite classroom podcasts remain Room208, MillsMurfee, and RadioWillowweb. Shaun has these linked on his podcasting page as well!

Where are the links to junior high and high school podcasts? Well, I have never seen any online, if you can believe that…. many educational innovations seem to happen first at the elementary level, and podcasting appears to support that trend. If you know of any secondary level classroom podcasts, please comment with links here. I know of secondary teachers who are podcasting, but not any who are helping their students create podcasts.

Our student podcasts are coming. We’re slowly getting over our fear of microphones.

Thank you for the recognition! It’s a work in progress, so any input from you or your readers on this podcast site would be great!

Here’s a classroom shocker for you, with attendant video from back in the day on our companion site.

You should pass this link around so people in education really know how dirty some folks can be.
