Moving at the Speed of Creativity by Wesley Fryer

Graphing change

These charts by Karl Hartig are amazing. The information age graph shows the US transition from the 1st wave (agricultural economy) to the 2nd wave (industrial age) to our present 3rd wave (information age). The PDF versions of these charts are best, since they have the highest resolution and let you zoom in with a much higher level of quality.

The chart of computing power and computer innovations provides excellent visualizations of why we are living in the elbow of exponential growth curves. The next-generation Macintosh Powerbook (MacBook Pro) is 4-5 times faster than the previous version. I think most of us (myself included) have a generally poor ability to comprehend how incredible these change rates are.

The music industry purchasing trend graphs show the transition from vinyl records to CDs. I would like to see this updated to include digital downloads.

Excellent examples of using graphs to powerfully communicate. These would be great to use with students who are working on creating their own graphs to visually communicate. Thanks to Guy Kawasaki for the link.
