The latest version of Ecto for Windows (2.1.7) seems to have resolved the post refresh issues I mentioned yesterday. Thanks to Alex Hung for this info.
If you’re not familiar with it, Ecto is an excellent offline blogging tool that I’ve been using for over a year now– When asked how in the world I can post so much to my blog, Ecto is always a prominent part of my answer! Check it out if you blog with WordPress or a similar tool (that does not use ftp– sorry Miguel!) Ecto is cross-platform, running in both Windows and Macintosh environments, although the feature sets are a bit different. I love Ecto! 🙂

You’re just jealous…I bet you wish you had a nice Linux, FREE offline blogging tool like thingamablog! (which btw, works on Mac AND Windows with no significant feature change).
Ah well, go ahead and keep getting those expensive solutions. I’ll stick with the free stuff, which is essentially what k-12 educators have to deal with unless they want to justify spending money on software rather than training in those new pedagogies you refer to….

$12 is a small price to pay for the freedom to take vacations from blogging and leave my blog in the hands of able guest bloggers! 🙂
Now now boys, no fighitng. With Wes confined to the PC world (bummer), and Miguel in Linux Land (slight step up), it looks like I’m the only one to enjoy life in Machappines on a full time basis.
Thanks for all that you both add to the blogosphere and education community it is no small task and very highly appreciated.
Well, the newer release of Ecto is better on the Windows side, but mine still posts with unwanted line breaks (inexplicably) and the text refresh in the program is still a bit kludgy. I miss my Mac version. 🙁
