In my phone conversation with my wife this morning, she mentioned a great new magazine arrived at our house yesterday, “The Creative Educator.” This is a publication of the very creative and innovative folks over at Tech4Learning, who make wonderful products that inspire creativity like The Clay Animation Kit and Frames, which is a Mac/Windows…

Lynette Clemetson’s NY Times article from Feb 4th, “The Racial Politics of Speaking Well,” offers important reflections on Senator Joseph Biden’s racist and ridiculous statements about possible U.S. Presidential candidate and U.S. Senator Barack Obama. In reference to the adjective “articulate,” she offers the following sound advice: But here is a pointer. Do not use…

Limited bandwidth
This is interesting but perhaps not unexpected: At the Austin Convention Center, anyone can get on the wireless network but bandwidth is limited by user. Unfortunately, the AUP doesn’t indicate specifically how much bandwidth a “limited connection” provides: Technorati Tags: tcea07, tcea2007

False advertising in high speed Internet access
I’m staying here in Austin for the TCEA conference at a local Holiday Inn, which advertises “free high-speed Internet access in all guest rooms.” The connection speed is so excruciatingly slow, I did a quick Internet Frog Speed Test. Here is the result: It is SERIOUSLY misleading to call this “high-speed Internet access.” This is…
