This week I’ve been discussing ways to empower students as well as teachers with twenty-first century skills in Canyon, Texas. Early in the presentation, as an activity I ask participants to take some notes on notable statistics included in the almost-five minute video, “Did You Know 4.0.” Yesterday, thanks to a share by Cheryl Oakes on Facebook (and my Flipboard iPad app) I learned about the YouTube video, “21st Century Education in New Brunswick, Canada.” Instead of “Did You Know?” this video could be titled, “Do You Realize?” I like how it not only points out the pace of change in communication technologies, but also highlights specific changes we need to make in our schools and communities when it comes to the ways we can embrace digital learning. The video runs 5.5 minutes long. This is the official YouTube description:
