The Autumn 2006 issue of “Interactive Educator” is available for free download, as well as available in print form from Smart Technologies (the makers of SmartBoards.) My article begins on page 29 and is titled, “To Blog or Not to Blog? You Decide.” The article addresses pros and cons of both blogging and podcasting. Special thanks to Bob Sprankle for contributing photos for this piece!

Wes,
Great article, it will be very helpful as I have an opportunity to present to the executive cabinet in my district shortly. I have copies of the magazine for each of them and it will be creased open to the article.
Cool, I hope the ideas will be helpful! Please let me know how it goes! Use of blogs and podcasts can be a tough sell, esp in larger districts that tend to be more hung up on PR and controlling information published about the district. If I can assist in your efforts to convince the “powers that be” that these activities can be done safely and via moderated environments, please let me know– I’d be glad to videoconference or phone conference into a meeting! 🙂
Great article Wes. Very clear and concise. I particularly liked your advice on net safety.
Best wishes
Joe

I read the article and thought… Hey, I Skyped with this guy! He knows what he is talking about! It was great and hopefully will encourage those who are hesitant about blogging.
Keep up the good work and good blogging.
Great article, Wes – I’ve mentioned it in this week’s weekly roundup on my blog. As I’ve said there, It should be shown to a lot of people in positions of authority in schools around the world! 😀
