I want to qualify my responses above. The administration does not endorse the use of any instant-messaging system and has taken care to remove icq and yahoo messenger off of my machine (I am a teacher). They have blocked MSN. However, I use skype and google talk because the ports were left open. The IT administrator is aware that I am using them because he supports my projects which require me to communicate regularly with other teachers using this medium. I am the only I know of on our staff of about 150 that uses instant messaging at work.
