Moving at the Speed of Creativity by Wesley Fryer

What do you want to CREATE today? (Oct 2012)

For the past few months I’ve been working on a new website and book project I’m calling, “Mapping Media to the Curriculum.” Rather than wait until the entire project is finished to announce it, I’ve been sharing as I go along. This evening I renamed and redrew the product I’d formerly called “No-Edit Podcast” as “Radio Show.” I drafted the Radio Show product page, as well as the pages for “Quick Edit Video” and “Simulation or Game.” I also made some changes to the navigational menu at the top of the site, so visitors can browse to any of the twelve products using a drop-down menu instead of having to return back to the homepage. After tonight’s updates, all twelve of the media products I’m including in this website and ebook project are finally drafted! This doesn’t mean they are FINISHED, of course, but at least everything has a start. If you have feedback I’d love to hear it!

This “Mapping Media to the Curriculum” (or “Mapping Media to the Common Core,” if you prefer) project is becoming the central focus of my work as a digital learning consultant sharing conference keynote addresses, breakout sessions, and workshops for educator professional development. This project is my best effort at answering several questions, including the common refrain in classrooms where new technology tools have recently been purchased:

What should we do with these technology tools?

A constructive response, in my view, is to answer this question: What do you want to CREATE today?

What Do You Want to Create Today?

I think this is a wonderful idea and hope that it will be helpful to the visitors. I really like the drawing of the media products.
