The W3C Markup Validation Service (http://validator.w3.org) is a free resource that can be used to check HTML code compliance with web standards.
I have found the view source / goto line features in the FireFox web browser to be helpful when troubleshooting code errors. When viewing a page, choose VIEW – PAGE SOURCE and then EDIT – GO TO LINE to view a specific line of HTML that is causing validation problems.
