Lazybase and database of blog tools

Miguel Guhlin introduced me this evening to the web 2.0 tool Lazybase, which allows anyone to quickly create a shared online database with custom fields. VERY cool.

Miguel started a Lazybase site for blog tools (http://lazybase.com/blogtools) in anticipation of next week’s collaborative skypecast about the pros and cons of different blogging tools for teachers and students. How nifty to be able to create and edit an online database so quickly and easily! (Coincidentally, I had to make some changes to a custom database solution created with Filemaker this evening… boy is Lazybase easy by comparison! Not as customizable, but still remarkably powerful.)

Hopefully this site will helpful as we compare and evaluate blogging tools. The link above is to a read-only version of the database, if you know of another tool we should add please comment on the original skypecast invitation post, which we’ll use as an agenda for the discussion on Tuesday night (North American time.)

Note the database is “readonly” just for the existing entry info– but you can add comments to any of the blog tool database entries, so please feel free to add your 2¢! 🙂
